Around four in the night

04 Mar

No wonder you’re staring at that curtain
Or in the space, from a distance, for hours
No wonder your dinner plate is lying still, on the dinner table
For a couple of hours more than it should
No wonder you’re thinking about the smart things that you should’ve said
To that stranger, in that pointless argument today, earlier in the day
No wonder you wander in those dissociated thoughts
At this unearthly hour, around four in the night

I’m missing you as much, love

Don’t worry if you can’t get some sound sleep tonight
I’m on my way home,
Just boarding the flight
